News (26/02/11)

New pages have been added- Auditions, Cast and Crew and About. There you can find information about the auditions and the film itself (as the original posts will eventually decrease) as well as comment on them and discuss. The Cast and Crew page gives you the list of cast and crew roles as well as confirmed characters which will be updated over the year.

Auditions (Open)

Okay, so apologies for what you're about to see if you're out of the UK, but there is something for you (see the bottom).

Cast Audition Requirements

  • You must be from the UK, preferably near Yorkshire but it doesn't matter really.
  • You should be able to use an American accent, however you may be taken on-board depending on your audition and helped by one of our coaches to perform the accent (please note that there are many British characters anyway).
  • You can be absolutely any age to audition as long as it is over 15. There will also be a young girl and boy required in the later film but don't worry about that for now.
  • You must have at least one gun prop, with at least some appropriate look to it. For example, don't get a see-through one if it's a water pistol with labels and stickers. You can find something black which is meant for younger children (allowed here obviously) and that will be very helpful.
  • If you CAN NOT do this then please let us know and we'll help you out.
  • This is a really good opportunity for serious acting and interesting fighting to take as well as help with our desperate attempts on special effects and stunts.
Crew Audition Requirements

  • For a crew audition you must be able to help with CGI and have a sophisticated application for creating great computer graphics and/or sounds for filming. If you have a modern, clever film-maker application we'll see what you've got for us, even if you don't have the first requirement.
  • Other crew work you can apply for is camera work, and if you have A MODERN, POWERFUL FILMING CAMERA then PLEASE try and help out. If you do this you'll be automatically placed into the film to play a character (could be a zombie or Umbrella soldier or scientist) and you will be credited for your work for us and character role. It will save a lot of money for us without finding some £1000 camera when someone could lend us one instead.
  • Also anyone with software to create really effective, epic film-like posters will be considered for help as we need to make this as professional as possible.
Many may discredit fan-film projects like these, but the only reason they do this is because they think those films have no potential to be successful enough. However, if YOU opt into this, you'll help make this film prove them wrong and be part of something great, you just need to co-operate. It doesn't take interest in the film to get involved- it takes loyalty, teamwork, craftsmanship and friendship.

Auditions: If You're In...

  • Successful applicants will have to get permission from their parents/guardians if they're 16-17 or under, as we have to make sure that parents or guardians are aware of what's going on especially if the applicants are far out from the filming locations.
  • Please understand that accommodation and place of living whilst in the area of film location is entirely the applicants' responsibility. Only one person can stay with the film creator if they want to, and that is the one with film-applications, a great filming camera and/or computer graphic software. This is only necessary if you live far away from the location.
  • You will be expected to learn scripts if necessary, or revise movements if you play a non-speaking character. There will be at least two sessions between filming to coach acting but it's barely long and won't bore you, it'll help your character a 'body', not a 'nobody'. Remember: the smallest parts can get the greatest responses!
  • Filming will last a while, at least two weeks, so far-away participants will need somewhere they can stay for a good while, and if there's a problem they should bring parents or guardians with them to look after them, as we can't be held responsible for any accidents or issues outside filming, but we do hold care for who gets involved.
  • It's important that you realise you may have to return some other year for a sequel film if you have a big part, so don't go home and forget what you did, who you played, etc.
  • You will receive a copy of the film plot if you get in.
Thanks for reading, and please consider this. Is there anything you can do for this film? You don't have to give props or software in person, you can send it to us by email (contact information below).

Resident Evil: Evolution (Read First Before Post #2)

About RE:E

The first film in this planned trilogy focuses on the rising of Umbrella and the secret experiments taking place within, as well as the constant interference by S.T.A.R.S until they are finally attacked by Umbrella forces led by Wesker and his incredible technology. Within the film we find classic characters such as Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Ozwell Spencer, the Tyrants and more.
The storylines for the films are extremely close to the original ideas, but certain things happen at different times, in different ways but generally keeping in the same main story- nothing major has changed, and Alice isn't in it. The films are entirely based around the original characters and are not devised into new stories in any way except for additional characters, monsters and plot fillers.

Props

When this film is released within the next year or two, you'll notice the weapons- they're either opaque or orange and black, but completely identical to BB guns elsewhere. The reason for this is that the Evolution team and I are from the UK, where believe it or not we're not allowed to have lookalike BB guns, only if they're see-through or orange to look unreal. We can't afford to have the police knowing what we're doing as it wastes time and possibly money. However, I'm sure you can all ignore this as it affects absolutely nothing. We have fake green grenades which are easy, but need some red ones. If anyone has props to give away/sell (weapons preferably) that they think will help the film please comment on this post or send a message to our channel TheSpamFilms on YouTube.

Cast and Crew

Camera work will be occupied by myself when necessary and other volunteers. Other crew work will include the writing and directing by myself and another for my own scenes. There will also be various people coaching the actors and reviewers of the film during the set. Producers are also on the go to check work before it goes through it's phases.
As for cast, no cast has been decided except my own which will most likely by the infamous villain which I do not even need to name. ;) So as you may have been expecting, the fun part is on the next post.
